Génitique, subcontracting for Groupe LAR, was awarded a contract by Électricité de France (EDF) to carry out civil and mechanical engineering studies.

Project

Électricité de France (EDF) invests in the maintenance of its hydraulic power plants. This project falls within the policy for environmental protection, facilities maintenance and heritage development sought by EDF. The work carried out is required to enhance the safety and the performance of the electricity production facilities.

Nentilla is one of their power stations located in the Aude valley, that is owned by the Aude-Tech power stations group, that in turn is linked to Groupe d’Exploitation Hydraulique (GEH) Aude Ariège of the Sud-Ouest production unit.

The penstock, with an overall length of 1,011 m, channels the water from the head gate to the two generator units of the Nentilla power station, with a drop of 526 m. The project includes replacing the hooped section of the existing penstock (395 m), treating the smooth section and rehabilitating the penstock supports of the smooth section.
